Recently unemployed... How not to loose your mind!

Well at the confusing age of forty I find myself unemployed. Not something I'm used to. I've worked, well as long as I can remember. So what's one to do? Well.....  start a blog of coarse!  I was working in an urgent care/family clinic for two years, loved the majority of it, but wasn't making enough or going really anywhere. So I gave notice. I'll get a new job no problem! Well I did after only three days, and it was fantastic.... Until I found out my new employer was bipolar!!!!!  So there goes that. And this is where I find myself - three weeks unemployed, wearing sweat pants, drinking tea, and contemplating life. Deep I know!  After cleaning the entire house and going through every nook and cranny, it's time for the dreaded garage sale. Dreaded only by my husband, I in fact love the idea and can't wait. I grew up going to garage sales on Saturday mornings with my dad, sifting through other people's lives (junk) and coming home with a treasure.... if lucky. This all started because I went to ikea, decided to do an extreme hack on my kitchen, and build a pantry out of a closet. What? Like that's not normal?! So after my trip to ikea I thought a simple put it together, attach to the wall, and viola! NO! My husband (contractor/electrician) got involved and then there was drywall, redirecting electrical, and paint. Here is the before pic. Taken last Halloween.... Note the zombie attire!

You could say that my house is a bit eclectic, I have a hankering for crap!
                                                               Especially clocks!

And here is the after photo

Much cleaner and streamlined, not to mention storage beyond my wildest dreams!
My hubby finished off the top with crown molding and redirected electrical for future usage. Inside pics to come. Did I mention how much I love my new pantry? Thank you to my other half for making it possible.
